About Lehigh Valley Yoga Festival

Lehigh Valley Yoga Festival, Vegfest, Bethlehem Vegfest, SouthSide Bethlehem Greenway in Bethlehem, #BethlehemVegfest, #GetDowntownBethlehem
Welcome to the 5th Annual Lehigh Valley Yoga Festival Fundraising Event!! The only health and wellness community event of its kind in the region, it is the largest fundraiser for the Pratyush Sinha Foundation, and all proceeds go directly toward providing Yoga & Mindfulness Classes in schools, prisons, churches, recovery programs, and more. The event - which draws more than 300 participants - is held on the beautiful Moravian College campus in the heart of downtown Bethlehem and offers more than 30 classes, performances, and workshops.

What's NEW this year? We want to bring yoga and meditation into the forefront of the conversation on health and wellness in the Lehigh Valley. To that end, the Festival's theme - "The Intersection of Yoga and Medicine" - is also the topic for the Lehigh Valley Yoga Festival's first-ever Panel Discussion. The intention for the discussion on how yoga and medicine intersect bolsters what the event is all about: strengthening the mind-body connection to create space for healing, as individuals, and as a community.

We have also expanded the event schedule line-up to have an all-inclusive focus - Yoga for Every BODY: chair yoga, gentle yoga, sessions and classes on yoga for cancer, back care, bigger bodies, and more. And by popular demand, we've also added Children's Yoga, and Admission is FREE for Kids Under 14 years old!!

In addition to a schedule filled with well-loved teachers, the event line-up also includes kirtan, mindfulness meditation and sound healing. And, there will be nearly two dozen holistic practitioners, wellness professionals, healthy food vendors, and services such as massage, Reiki, and nutritional coaching.

JOIN US at this extraordinary event for a transformative experience and purpose - supporting our mission to achieve health and harmony in our communities!!

History
Leigh Valley Yoga Festival, Vegfest, Bethlehem Vegfest, SouthSide Bethlehem Greenway in Bethlehem, #BethlehemVegfest, #GetDowntownBethlehem. In its 5th year, the Lehigh Valley Yoga Festival has experienced wonderful growth and success. Being the only health and wellness event of its kind in our area, it now attracts more than 300 participants from our region and beyond: Philadelphia, New York, New Jersey, and more. And its original mission has not changed. It has been enriched and bolstered by the cause it supports – providing Yoga & Mindfulness Classes to children and adults in the Lehigh Valley who might not otherwise have access. With its primary intention being community-building, the all-day event presents a one-of-a-kind opportunity to enjoy various styles of yoga, meditation, music and healing through classes, workshops, presentations, and performances.

Prabha Sinha and Alicia Rambo Wozniak at the Leigh Valley Yoga Festival. The largest fundraiser for Pratyush Sinha Foundation, the summer festival would not have been possible without the Original Four – Jo-Ann Temple (Yoga & Meditation Teacher) – whose desire for a local festival catapulted 3 local teachers to help make her dream a reality: Alicia Rambo Wozniak (Yoga Teacher, Holistic Nutrition & Wellness Coach, and owner of Easton Yoga); Deva Vidya (Healer, Teacher, and Musician); and Prabha Sinha (Yoga & Mindfulness Teacher and Founder of Pratyush Sinha Foundation).

Not only is the event a day of summer fun for adults and children alike, ALL the proceeds from the yoga festival go toward providing healing to at-risk populations through trauma-informed Yoga & Mindfulness Classes.

FAQ

I’ve never done yoga but would like to. Are there beginner-friendly classes?
Yes!! This year, we have added a greater focus on classes and workshops that are beginner-friendly, suitable for those with illness, injury, or other physical limitations – such as chair yoga, gentle yoga, yoga for cancer, and more.

Do I need to bring my own mat?
Many people find that they prefer to bring their own mat; however, we do have a limited number of mats that you can use, free of charge. We suggest getting to the Festival early to secure a mat.

 What should I wear?
Wear something comfortable and suitable for warm weather. Most classes, workshops, performances, and presentations are held indoors; however, July can bring higher temperatures, so lightweight clothing is suggested.

Can I bring my own food and beverages?
While we have delicious food and beverage vendors with vegetarian, non-vegetarian, and organic options, you are certainly welcome to bring your own.

Am I allowed to bring alcohol?
No, alcohol and drugs are not permitted at this event. Individuals that appear to be intoxicated or under the influence will be asked to leave.

Are there restaurants nearby if I prefer to dine elsewhere?
Bethlehem has so many great places to eat that it would be impossible to list them all! Here are a few suggestions:
>> Thai Thai 2
>> Vegan Treats
>> Jumbars
>> Apollo Grill
>> Wise Bean
>> Nicks Pizza Restaurant
>> Wegmans

I’m traveling from out-of-town, can you suggest local accommodations?
While this list is not comprehensive, here are a few hotel options:
>> Hotel Bethlehem
>> Lehigh Valley Hotel
>> Hampton Inn
>> Hyatt

Are there restrooms near the various areas where classes will be held?
There are restrooms conveniently located on every floor of the buildings, including Handicap Accessible. Additionally, there are women’s, men’s, and gender-neutral restrooms.

I have a physical disability – is the event Handicap Accessible?
In addition to nearby, Handicap Accessible parking, each building has Handicap Accessible entrances and restrooms. There are also elevators in the buildings.

 Are pets allowed?
Pets are allowed in outdoor areas on and around the Moravian College campus, but not indoors. There is, however, the exception that service dogs are allowed in all areas – indoors and outside.

Is the event indoors or outside?
Most classes, workshops, performances, and presentations are held indoors; however, July can bring higher temperatures, so lightweight clothing is suggested. We’ve added Children’s Yoga this year, and those classes will be held outside.

Where should I park? Do I have to pay to park? In addition to free, on-street parking, Moravian College has parking lots that are free-of-charge. Handicap Accessible parking is available.
